About Us
Launched in 2012, the yearbook Latvians and Belarusians: together through the centuries seeks to illuminate the rich shared history between Belarus and Latvia.
The project grew from a collaboration between historians in Viciebsk and Riga, supported from its early stages by the Consulate of the Republic of Latvia in Viciebsk. Since 2022, we have been working in collaboration with the Belarusian Institute in Prague.

We serve as a dynamic forum for scholars, a place to share discoveries, spark dialogue, and connect researchers for future collaboration. Through archival finds, translations, and remembrance, we make the Belarusian-Latvian past accessible and engaging, demonstrating how centuries of neighborly ties have profoundly shaped both our cultures.

Our pages feature work by seasoned academics, emerging scholars (MA and PhD candidates), and dedicated local historians. Together, we explore the historical presence of Latvians in Belarus and Belarusians in Latvia, as well as the ongoing and future dialogue between our communities and states.

The Yearbook goes to press in the third quarter. Production and printing are overseen by the Editor-in-Chief and the Founder.
